Whatever you call him–the Space Cowboy, the Gangster of Love, or even Maurice—Steve Miller turns 77 today.
The Beatles’ first single, “Love Me Do,” was released in Britain on this day in 1962. This version has Ringo on drums; session player Andy White appears on most later releases, including the U.S. single.
In 1999, Paul McCartney released “Run Devil Run,” mostly a collection of 50’s rock classics. His backup band included Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour, and Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice.
