Today in 2007, the surviving members of Led Zeppelin announced they’d reform at London’s O2 Arena to play a tribute to Atlantic Records founder, Ahmet Ertegun. It would be their first full length concert since 1980.
In 1981, “The Secret Policeman’s Other Ball,” a live benefit for Amnesty International, was recorded in London. While it was mainly a comedy show, it also had music from Sting, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck.
And the late Neil Peart, drummer and lyricist of Rush for over 40 years, was born today in 1952.
