August 12 |
Birthday greetings to 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits. The singer, guitarist and songwriter is 72.
Fleetwood Mac made their concert debut on August 12, 1967 at Great Britain’s National Blues and Jazz Festival. At the start, they were known as “Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac.”
Today in 1968, The New Yardbirds had their first rehearsal. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham started with “Train Kept A-Rollin’” and knew they had something special.
