Today in 1979, Led Zeppelin played their final live show in England with their original lineup. Their headlining sets at Knebworth Festival were their first shows in the UK since 1975.

In 1973, two members of Wings quit the band rather than go to Nigeria to record their next album. That forced Paul McCartney, wife Linda, and Denny Laine to record “Band on the Run” as a trio.

And in 1975, Aerosmith earned a gold record for their album, “Toys in the Attic.” It’s gone on to sell over 8 million copies.
