July 4 |

The 4th of July, 1969, was day one of the first Atlanta International Pop Festival. The two-day event featured Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, CCR, Joe Cocker, and many more.

Farm Aid II was held in Manor, Texas, today in 1986. John Mellencamp, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, and Bon Jovi were among the artists celebrating Independence Day by showing their support for family farmers.

And in 1974, Steely Dan ended their tour with a show in Santa Monica, California. They wouldn’t play live again for 18 years.
