In 1977, Fleetwood Mac had their first and only #1 US single with the Stevie Nicks song, “Dreams.”
In 1967, it was the third and final day of the Monterey Pop Festival. After losing the argument on who would close the show, Jimi Hendrix followed The Who. As usual at that time, The Who ended their set by smashing their instruments. Jimi responded by setting his guitar on fire.
