In 1965 The Beatles were filming their second movie, “Help!”, when they learned that the Queen made them all MBE’s: “Member of the Order of the British Empire,” an honor usually reserved for military heroes.
In 1973, Grand Funk Railroad began recording their album “We’re an American Band” at Criteria Studios in Miami. They’d finish it in only four days with producer Todd Rundgren.
And, today’s birthdays include the late Brad Delp, founding vocalist for Boston, and Cheap Trick drummer Bun E Carlos, who’s 71.
