After being delayed in court for almost two years, on this day in 1978 Bruce Springsteen released “Darkness on theEdge of Town,” the follow-up to his breakthrough, “Born To Run.”

On this day in 1989 Rolling Stone bassist Bill Wyman married model Mandy Smith. He was 52, she was 19. They would divorce 2 years later.

And the Rolling Stones began their first American tour on this day in 1964, with a concert in Lynn, Massachusetts. It also happens to be drummer Charlie Watts’ birthday. He’s 80 years old!
