On this day in 1965, Kinks guitarist Dave Davies was knocked out onstage in London. Dave fell into drummer Mick Avory’s cymbals, and the Kinks had to cancel the rest of the tour.

The Who performed a secret show in London on this day in 1978. The concert was done to get some extra footage for their film “The Kids Are Alright,” and turned out to be Keith Moon’s last live performance.

And on this day in 1985, Dire Straits had their second #1 album in the UK, ‘Brothers in Arms.’ Led by the single and video for “Money for Nothing”, it would go on to hit #1 in the US and 24 other countries.
