Reggae superstar Bob Marley died of cancer on this day in 1981 at age 36. A star in his homeland of Jamaica since 1964, he and his band The Wailers went on to global success in the 70s.
And the soundtrack album to the movie “Woodstock” was released on this day in 1970, just 9 months after the concert. It sold half a million copies in the first two weeks.
