The Beatles’ final album “Let It Be” was released on Apple Records today in 1970. It was produced, or rather, assembled, by Phil Spector from the “Get Back” sessions from before Abbey Road.

In 1984, Roger Waters released his first solo album, “The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking,” featuring Eric Clapton on lead guitar. Waters had first presented the concept to Pink Floyd in 1977, but they chose his other idea, The Wall.

And Supertramp earned a platinum record in 1979 when “Breakfast in America,” #1 at the time, hit one million copies sold.
