On this day in 1981, Yes bassist Chris Squire and drummer Alan White began rehearsals with Jimmy Page, leading to rumors of a new band dubbed XYZ, for “Ex-Yes and Zeppelin”. Unfortunately, the project didn’t work out.

In 1970, the band Steel Mill played the Main Gym at Ocean County College in New Jersey. Tickets were two dollars to check out the group, featuring singer and lead guitarist, Bruce Springsteen.

And in 1975 Alice Cooper hosted a Network TV special, a rockumentary titled “Welcome to My Nightmare: The Making of a Record Album”
