In 1981, it was wedding bells for Eddie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli. The two met the previous August at a Van Halen concert in Louisiana; they were together until 2005.  

On this day in 1961 Bob Dylan made his professional singing debut. The 19-year old opened for blues great John Lee Hooker at Gerde’s Folk City in New York’s Greenwich Village.  

On this day in 2017, guitarist John Geils, the namesake of the J. Geils Band died at age 71.
