King Crimson made their concert debut on this day in 1969. The founding lineup featured Greg Lake of ELP, keyboardist Ian McDonald of Foreigner, and guitarist Robert Fripp, who still leads the band today.
In 1973, Queen celebrated their signing to EMI Records with a showcase gig at London’s famous Marquee Club. The band were recording their debut album at the time.
And today in 1965, the Rolling Stones made their first live appearance on Britain’s premier music television show, “Ready Steady Go!”
