On this day in 1976, Aerosmith’s debut peaked at number 21 on the album charts— two and a half years after it was released. Originally, it topped out at #166, but their later success put it back on the charts.  

The Doors’ Jim Morrison turned himself in to the FBI today in 1969, a month after he was charged with lewd behavior at a Miami concert. He was released on $2000 bail.  

And in 1988, George Harrison got some friends together to record a b-side called “Handle with Care.” Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, and Bob Dylan had so much fun, they stayed together as The Traveling Wilburys.
