On this date in 1967, Van Morrison recorded his classic, “Brown Eyed Girl.” Producer Bert Berns made Van do 22 takes before he got the one that he wanted.

In 1976, Genesis began their first North American tour since Peter Gabriel’s departure, with Phil Collins taking over on vocals, and former Yes member Bill Bruford on drums.

And Led Zeppelin released their fifth album, “Houses of the Holy,” on this day in 1973, their first with a title rather than numbers or symbols. The title track however, wouldn’t come out until Physical Graffiti two years later.
