Birthday greetings go out to guitarist Nancy Wilson of Heart. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was born today in 1954.  

The Beatles broke another record today in 1964, with the American release of “Can’t Buy Me Love,” their seventh single which had more than 2 million advance orders.  

Today in 1977, A&M Records dropped the Sex Pistols, just six days after signing them. EMI had done the same two months earlier; neither label could deal with the band’s ongoing bad behavior.
