In 1981, Eric Clapton was hospitalized in St. Paul, Minnesota, for ulcers. He’d be in the hospital for over 4 weeks, forcing him to cancel the rest of his U.S. tour.  

In 1970, the song “Instant Karma!,” which John Lennon wrote and recorded in just one day, hit #1 on the charts.  

And on this day in 1992, about 40,000 people attended Farm Aid 5 in Irving, Texas. The show was hosted by Willie Nelson and featured Neil Young, John Mellencamp, and many more.
