Today in 1973, Pink Floyd released their eighth studio album, “Dark Side of the Moon.” Though it only spent a week at #1, it’s one of the best selling albums of all time, staying on the charts for 741 straight weeks.

In 1984, Van Halen was at the top of the charts with “Jump.” The synth-based song was a departure for the guitar-driven band, but it became their first and only #1 single.

And happy birthday to Tom Scholz, the mind and guitar behind Boston who turns 74 today.
