On this day in 2000, the 15th annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was held in New York City. Eric Clapton, already in as a member of Cream and The Yardbirds, became the first three-time inductee.
In 1966, The Rolling Stones stopped in Los Angeles on their way back from a tour of Australia and New Zealand to record a handful of songs, including “Paint It Black.”
And celebrating a birthday today—guitarist David Gilmour of Pink Floyd who turns 75.
