Today in 1970, Led Zeppelin performed in Denmark as “The Nobs.” They had to use the alias because Eva von Zeppelin, a descendant of the German count who designed the first zeppelin, threatened to sue if they played Denmark under their real name.

On this day in 1994, Eric Clapton played his 100th performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall. He’s gone on to play the venue over 200 times.

And today is the anniversary of the birth of Brian Jones, a founding member of the Rolling Stones. Brian quit the group in 1969, shortly before he died in a swimming pool accident.
