The 39th Annual Grammy Awards were today in 1997, and 27 years after their breakup, the Beatles were winners. They took home three trophies for “Free as a Bird” and the 11-hour “Anthology” documentary.  

In 1985, the late Chuck Berry received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 27th Annual Grammy awards.  

And on this day in 1977, the Eagles hit #1 on the charts with the single for “New Kid in Town.”
