Today in Rock History with Chris DeCarlo

February 11

February 11th was a very big day for rock and roll movies. On this day in 1983, the Rolling Stones concert film, “Let’s Spend The Night Together” opened in New York City…

…And in 1970, “The Magic Christian”, starring Ringo Starr, screened for the first time. The film’s soundtrack, released the same day, featured Badfinger’s “Come and Get It,” written by Paul McCartney.

And in 1963, the Beatles recorded 10 of the 14 tracks for their first British album, “Please Please Me,” in just under ten hours.
