Today in 1969, John Lennon’s post-Beatles group, the Plastic Ono Band, made their live debut at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Revival Show in Toronto. The one-time lineup featured Eric Clapton and Yes drummer Alan White, among others.
David Knopfler, brother of lead guitarist Mark Knopfler, quit Dire Straits on this day in 1980, during the recording of their third album, Making Movies.
And on this day in 2019, just a few weeks after announcing he had cancer, singer Eddie Money died at age 70.
