The Beatles’ last public performance ever was on this day in 1969, on the rooftop of the Beatles-owned Apple Headquarters building in London. The lunchtime concert became the finale of the film, Let It Be.
The Moody Blues had their first #1 hit single on this day in 1965, when “Go Now” topped the British charts. The lead vocalist on that record is Denny Laine, a future member of Wings.
