Today in 2007, the surviving members of Led Zeppelin announced they’d reform at London’s O2 Arena to play a tribute to Atlantic Records founder, Ahmet Ertegun. It would be their first full length concert since 1980.

In 1981, “The Secret Policeman’s Other Ball,” a live benefit for Amnesty International, was recorded in London. While it was mainly a comedy show, it also had music from Sting, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck.

And on a sad note, today would have been the 68th birthday of Rush drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, who passed at the beginning of 2020.
