On this day in 1968, Jimi Hendrix started recording his version of Bob Dylan’s “All Along The Watchtower” at Olympic Studios in London. Rolling Stone Brian Jones and Dave Mason of Traffic were both in on the session.
In 1974, Bob Dylan attended a post-concert party at the mansion of then-governorof-Georgia Jimmy Carter. The invitation came at the insistence of Carter’s son, Chip.
And on this day in 1984, Yes was on the top of the charts with “Owner Of A Lonely Heart,” their first and only #1 single.
