The Doors documentary “The Doors Are Open” aired on British television today in 1968. The one hour black and white film included footage of their 1968 European tour.
Also in 1968, Janis Joplin started rehearsals with her new group, The Kozmic Blues Band. They were only together for about two years, releasing one studio album, and backing her up at the Woodstock festival.
And born today in 1944, the late Alvin Lee, the guitarist best known for his soaring licks with Ten Years After and their classic, “I’d Love To Change The World.”
