  • On this day in 1977 Kiss began four nights of live recording at the L.A. Forum for “Kiss Alive II.” Today is also bassist Gene Simmons’ 71st birthday.  
  • Today in 1970, Emerson, Lake and Palmer played live for the first time, at Plymouth Guild Hall in Plymouth, England. Four days later, they were in front of over half a million fans at the Isle of Wight Festival.  
  •  And today in 1994, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page reunited in a London studio to record their version of MTV “Unplugged,” which they called “Unledded.”
