  • Today in 1966, The Doors entered Sunset Sound Studios in Hollywood to record their debut album. In the next 8 days, they laid down classics like “Light My Fire,” “Break On Through,” and “The End.”  
  • Today in 1975, Queen started work on “Bohemian Rhapsody.” There would be three more weeks of vocal and instrumental overdubs before the song was finished.  
  • And birthday greetings go out to drummer Jim Fox. The founder and namesake of Joe Walsh’s former band The James Gang, is 73 today.
