Two Arrests Close 2024 Homicide Cases in Ocala

OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Ocala Police Department announced that two individuals have been charged in connection with separate 2024 homicide cases, marking a significant milestone for the department and the community.

Zavondre A. Newmones, 25, has been charged with first-degree murder in the February killing of Troyelle Bell on NW 1st Street. Authorities said the arrest followed an extensive investigation by the department’s major crimes unit, led by detectives Grosso and Ridge.

In a separate case, Stephon A. Bagley, 27, faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder, for the June death of Faye Porter on NW 20th Avenue. Additional charges against Bagley included attempted second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, fleeing and eluding, possession of a machine gun, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cannabis under 20 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license revoked as a habitual offender.

With these indictments, the Ocala Police Department confirmed that all 2024 homicide cases have been officially cleared by arrest. The department thanked the community for its continued support.
