OCALA, FL (352today.com) – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says the Ocala Police Department has reopened SE 18th Avenue following this morning’s train derailment. All lanes are now clear and safe for travel.

Originally published at 12:25 p.m.:The Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reports that a train derailment has shut down SE 18th Avenue in the 2200 block, just south of Southeast 17th Street.
Authorities say there are no injuries and no hazardous materials involved in the incident. However, drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes while crews respond.



MCSO has not yet confirmed the cause of the derailment. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
