OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Stella’s Modern Pantry will reopen in a new Ocala location after previously announcing plans to close its longtime downtown storefront.
In April, owners Stacey Atsides and Albert Barrett announced the restaurant would close its location at 20 SW Broadway St. after 18 years in business, citing the expiration of its lease. At the time, the announcement led many to believe the business would be closing permanently.
Instead, Stella’s plans to relocate and continue operating from a new location in southwest Ocala. According to community discussions and local reports, the restaurant’s new home will be in the shopping center near the intersection of U.S. Hwy 27 and NW 70th Avenue, and area that serves residents and visitors traveling to the World Equestrian Center.
The relocation follows a period of significant change in downtown Ocala’s restaurant scene. Several longtime businesses have closed or relocated in recent years, while new restaurants and commercial developments continue to move into the area.
Stella’s has become a staple of Ocala’s dining community since opening nearly two decades ago, serving cafe fare while also offering a selection of specialty foods, wine and artisanal products.
An opening date for the new location has not yet been announced.
