BELLEVIEW, FL (352today.com) – The City of Belleview extends its appreciation to St. Theresa Catholic Church for their generous acts of service during the final week of July 2025. Demonstrating compassion and civic pride, the church’s volunteers completed a series of community projects making a visible and emotional impact throughout the city.
Throughout the week, members of St. Theresa’s congregation engaged in hands-on service projects in support of the Belleview community and those who serve it daily. Among their efforts:
- Care packages were prepared and delivered to members of the City’s Public Works Department, who are working through extreme summer heat to maintain essential infrastructure. These packages included bottled water, granola bars, hand-written notes of encouragement and thanks, and sweet treats, giving both practical relief and heartfelt recognition to the city’s frontline workers.
- The corner entrance to Belleview City Hall received a landscaping refresh, with new shrubbery and greenery planted to enhance curb appeal and create a more welcoming atmosphere for staff and visitors.
- The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in front of City Hall was meticulously cleaned, honoring the memory and sacrifice of those who have served, and ensuring the site remains a dignified place of reflection and respect.
- Sidewalks and the surrounding public space along U.S. Highway 441/27 were pressure-washed and cleared of debris, restoring a cleaner and safer walkway for residents and guests.
“The level of care and community spirit shown by St. Theresa’s volunteers has been nothing short of remarkable,” said Mariah Moody, City Administrator. “Their actions not only improved our physical spaces, but they also boosted the morale of our city staff. The personal touch, like hand-written notes to our public works team, reminds us how powerful acts of kindness can be.”
Robert Vass, Events and Promotions Manager for the City of Belleview, echoed the appreciation, noting, “Community partnerships like this are what make Belleview special. St. Theresa’s efforts reflect the best of what it means to serve others and be part of a community. As the plantings take root and grow, their work will leave a lasting impact at City Hall.”
The City of Belleview is proud to recognize St. Theresa Catholic Church for their commitment to servant leadership, and we are grateful for their ongoing partnership in building a stronger, more connected community.
