OCLA, FL (352today.com) – The Black Sheep on Broadway hosted Pints 4 Paws, a charity event for the Humane Society of Marion County (HSMC) on Aug. 23. The HSMC is no-kill animal shelter whose mission is “To prevent cruelty, suffering, and over-population of animals.” They attended the event in matching T-shirts representing the HSMC and reminding patrons that shirts and dog treats were available for purchase with proceeds going to the shelter. There was a table for the HSMC with business cards, pamphlets and more to inform patrons about the shelter, their mission and the goal of the Pints 4 Paws event.

Entering the pub, patrons were greeted by a select mix of animal and human items donated by a variety of companies available for a silent auction. These items were available for a silent auction where patrons could write their name and amount their willing to offer for the items with highest donation winning the items.

In the corner of the pub, four dogs in kennels were admired by patrons with HSMC staff advertising them as some of the few animals they have up for adoption. These dogs included Sainy, a one-year-old, white and black Cattle Dog mix; Pig, a six-month-old, black and white Pitbull mix; Huddy, a two-year-old, black and brown German Sheppard mix and Nanook, a six-year-old, black and white Husky.

Puppies, donated animal items and patrons bringing their own dogs to the pub gave the Black Sheep a welcoming atmosphere for animal lovers and pup-cup enthusiasts alike. Patrons were able to relax and enjoy a pint while helping an organization in need.
