Open house showcases Sumter County’s safety action plan

SUMTER COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – An open house hosted by Sumter County will unveil their safety action plan.

The public is invited to attend the open house for the safety action plan on Aug. 14, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Wildwood Community Center.

The safety action plan that was developed will address traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries on Sumter County’s transportation network. The Wildwood Community Center is located at 6500 Powell Road, Wildwood, FL.

The public is encouraged to attend, share their input, learn more about the plan, engage and interact with the project team, and express their concerns about safety issues regarding the area’s transportation system.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to safer roadways for all users,” said Deborah Snyder, Sumter County public works director. “Public feedback is an essential part of the process. We encourage residents to help shape the vision for a safer Sumter County.”

Residents can also share their input by visiting the project’s website through an interactive map.
