Ocala Police Department Welcomes 11 New Officers, Announces Key Promotions

OCALA, FL (352 Today) The Ocala Police Department officially welcomed 11 new officers and one volunteer police chaplain during a swearing-in ceremony held this week at OPD headquarters. Mayor Ben Marciano administered the oath of office, underscoring the city’s ongoing commitment to public safety and community service.

Newly sworn officers:

  • Officer Mendoza-Pineda
  • Officer Ibarra-Arbelaez
  • Officer Butler
  • Officer Fairley-Palmer
  • Officer Grace
  • Officer Jarnagin
  • Officer Lopez
  • Officer Perez
  • Officer Veasman
  • Office Watrous
  • Officer Black
  • Chaplain Steilberger

In addition to the new appointments, several department veterans were recognized for their service and leadership with promotions:

  • Eric Hooper was promoted to captain,
  • Mike Hilton was promoted to lieutenant, and
  • Arnaldo Colon was promoted to sergeant.

All three have served the Ocala community for years and were honored for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public service.
