MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) — A 30-year-old Ocala man faces serious charges after authorities say he sexually abused two juvenile victims, with detectives now seeking additional potential victims.

On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Major Crimes Detective Kaileigh Walton arrested Christopher Rivera, born March 6, 1995, on charges of capital sexual battery on a victim younger than 12 and two counts of lewd or lascivious conduct.

MCSO says that the investigation began June 16, 2025, when Detective Walton received a report that a juvenile disclosed past sexual abuse by Rivera. According to the sheriff’s office, Rivera sexually battered the victim between 2016 and 2017. The abuse allegedly occurred during a “game” under blankets while lying in bed, where Rivera orally penetrated the child. On multiple occasions, MCSO says that he also inappropriately touched the victim and had her jump on his lap under the guise of play.

During the investigation, a second, unrelated juvenile victim came forward, reporting similar lewd conduct, according to MCSO. The second victim described cuddling with Rivera in bed when she felt his “private part on her butt.” In both cases, authorities say Rivera used threats and fear of punishment to silence the victims.

Rivera was detained Wednesday and interviewed at MCSO. During the interview, he denied the allegations and blamed the victims, according to detectives. He was arrested and booked into the Marion County Jail, where he is being held without bond.

Given the nature of the crimes and the discovery of a second victim, authorities believe Rivera may have additional victims. MCSO asks that anyone with information contact them at (352) 732-9111.
