OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A student at First Assembly Christian Academy, Ocala’s Nacssa Garemore, just seems to get better with age.

At 17, he’s a three-time veteran on the NBC program, American Ninja Warrior. and this past year, he earned the number one seed, reaching the finals, which started Aug. 4., with Garemore advancing after week no. 1, completing the course in 0.58.21. The finals are being held in Las Vegas, Nev. and will continue for three weeks.

Garemore was born in Africa and was adopted when he was five. His natural athletic ability and self-confidence have made him the perfect fit to overcome the challenges of the obstacle courses, that would have even the world’s fittest athletes shaking their heads in disbelief.

However, for Garemore, he seems to be a natural at the discipline, having competed in American Ninja Warrior 15, American Ninja Warrior 16, and at age 17, he was part of the program’s 17th season.

Social media sensation

Nacssa has been a favorite among the show’s participants, one with a loyal following of spectators, with season 17 reaching more than 23 million viewers on both NBC and Peacock. In 2025, American Ninja Warrior has amassed more than 676 million views on all social media platforms, as the sports and entertainment reality show has captured the nation’s imagination.

Renowned for his speed, Garemore’s strength is not only in how fast he is, but people marvel at his ability and the efficiency of his transfers, as he navigates the obstacle courses with a determination rarely seen.

Unworldly effort

The 2025 show that was cast in 2024, saw Garemore accomplish something that hasn’t been done in more than a decade, as he turned in a performance for the ages by placing first over the modified obstacle course, a semifinals course, completing it in 2:52.60, the first time it has been covered in less than three minutes since Drew Dreschel had accomplished the feat in the American Ninja Warrior 5 Miami Finals.

A disciplined and cerebral athlete, Garemore plays guard on the First Christian Assembly Academy varsity basketball team, but he has found his niche as an American Ninja Warrior contestant, with his brother Roberto having competed alongside of him the first two years. But it appears that Garemore has taken his abilities to the next level, winning over the hearts of the nation as he makes his way to sports immortality, reaching a level few have achieved.
