OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A reduced electric bill in August for Ocala Electric Utility (OEU) customers?! Come again!?
You heard right. It’s possible. However, you must meet the eligibility requirements.

A new city ordinance is the reason for the transformation, one that calls for the customer’s initial sign-up fee to be transferred and credited back to their accounts.
The City of Ocala will return more than $1.89 million to nearly 11,000 account holders.
There are eligibility requirements that must be met to receive the credit including:
- being an OEU customer for 24 consecutive months
- demonstrated satisfactory payment record
- payment history with fewer than two penalties
- no returned checks
- no delinquencies for 12 consecutive months
