OCALA, FL (352today.com)- Two Men and a Truck the Movers for Moms campaign in 2007 as a regional initiative. Since then, it has grown into a nationwide effortโone that began locally at the companyโs Ocala branch ten years ago.
The campaign involves the company working alongside the community to provide donations for local womenโs shelters.
Casa Marion, the designated domestic violence center for women and children in Marion County, provides legal support and safe shelter to those in crisis.
Devin Hughes, Marketing Manager for Two Men and a Truck Ocala, has been with the company since July.ย Hughes says the Casa Marion center desperately needs cleaning supplies, hygiene items, personal care items, baby supplies, and non-perishable food.
โAt the end of the day, we want to be able to give back to our communityโฆ thatโs one of our greatest core values as a company,โ says Hughes. โThe first thousand dollars of profit the company made was given to ten different charities.โ
Hughes says there are two ways the community can donate: Casa Marion has linked an Amazon Wishlist to its website to give people an easy avenue to donate exactly what they need. The items bought will be sent directly to the shelter. In addition, have been set up at several locations, including Ocala Re/Max Premier Realty locations, Webway Studios, and both the East and West quadrants of Zone Health and Fitness.

As part of the campaign, Two Men and a Truck will host a โGive Back Nightโ at Mojoโs Restaurant on Tuesday, April 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. During the event, 20% of sales will be donated to Casa Marion for anyone who shows a digital or printed event flier to their server.
โEver since this company was founded by Mary Ellen Sheets, she made it a point to make sure that giving back to the community was something we always stood by,โ Hughes says.ย
The campaign started in March and will continue through Friday, May 2.
