OCALA, FL (352today.com) – Looking for a calm, loving dog who is great with kids, cats, and everything in between?

Meet Cookie, a gentle 5-year-old pup currently available for adoption at the Humane Society of Marion County (HSMC).

Cookie is a 50-pound sweetheart with a soft white coat speckled in black spots, and an even softer personality. She’s been with HSMC for about a month now, and has easily won hearts with her mellow temperament, love of belly rubs, and easygoing nature. Cookie walks easily on a leash, knows a few basic commands, and has quickly become a staff favorite.

She’s also a shining start at the shelter’s DogGone Reading Program. The children are able to practice their skills by reading aloud to the dogs, and the dogs listen without judging. Cookie listens attentively and even studies the pictures when kids hold the book up to show her.

Cookie is great with people, get along well with cats, and enjoys the company of other dogs who share her calm energy. A family environment would be the perfect match for this well-mannered girl who just wants to be part of the pack.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion to join your story, Cookie might just be your perfect match. Visit HSMC’s website or stop by the shelter to meet Cookie and just maybe give her the forever home she deserves.

The HSMC shelter is located at 701 NW 14th Road in Ocala and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM.
