SUMMERFIELD, FL (352today.com) – Marion County authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred earlier this month in the 3200 block of SE 142nd Lane in Summerfield.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, multiple vehicles were broken into during the overnight hours and although the culprits rifled through several cars, only two firearms were reported stolen. Investigators are particularly concerned due to the nature of the items taken, citing the ongoing public safety risk when firearms fall into the wrong hands.
Surveillance footage from the area captured the two individuals as they moved from vehicle to vehicle. While their faces are partially obscured, MCSO believes the quality of the video is clear enough that someone may be able to recognize the suspects based on their clothing and builds.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call MCSO directly at 352-732-9111. Alternatively, those who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers of Marion County by calling 352-368-STOP (7867) or by submitting tips online at ocalacrimestoppers.com.
When submitting a tip to Crime Stoppers, please refer to case number 25-18. If your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward.
This incident is part of an ongoing investigation under case number 25-14850, and has been assigned to Deputy P. Thomas.
MCSO continues to remind residents to lock their vehicles, remove valuable items and report suspicious activity to local law enforcement immediately.
