Marion County Public Schools earns eight national honors for standout PR campaigns

MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Marion County Public Schools (MCPS) is in the national spotlight for its award-winning Public Relations efforts.

The National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) recently announced its 2025 Golden Achievement winners list along with Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards. MCPS finished in the prestigious competition with eight honors:

Golden Achievement Award – “2024-2025 Bell Times” (one of just five Florida public school districts to win)
Award of Excellence – “Marching Band Preps @ Lake Weir High” (in-house video)
Award of Excellence – “Teacher Appreciation Cart @ Liberty Middle” (in-house video)
Award of Merit – 2024-2025 School Calendar
Award of Merit – “Launching Literacy II” video series (in-house)
Honorable Mention – “What Went Right” (excellence in writing)

These awards highlight the district’s ongoing commitment to transparent, engaging, and effective strategic communications with students, families, staff, and the entire Marion County community.

NSPRA’s national awards program recognizes outstanding school communication materials, with a record number of entries submitted this year from districts across the country. According to NSPRA, the competition celebrates “the creativity, strategy and impact of school communication professionals and education leaders,” with submissions judged on overall excellence and quality within peer categories.

NSPRA will recognize winners during its annual meeting and Celebration of Achievement event at the 2025 NSPRA National Seminar in Washington, D.C. in July. NSPRA will also spotlight winners in a digital display at the same conference, on its website, and in association e-newsletters this coming school year.
