MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – Marion County Public Safety Communications (PSC) is proud to announce it has officially received Emergency Police Dispatch (EPD) Accreditation from the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) — a distinction achieved by only a select few agencies worldwide.

With this honor, PSC becomes the 36th agency in the world to earn EPD Accreditation and joins an elite group of only 28 Triple Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE) Agencies globally.

This milestone marks the culmination of a journey that began in 2019, reflecting years of dedication, training, and relentless commitment to excellence. The achievement is a testament to the professionalism, skill, and perseverance of the entire PSC team — the community’s first, first responders — who serve as a critical lifeline in times of emergency.

Special recognition goes to PSC’s Emergency Telecommunicators, whose calm, precise, and compassionate responses save lives every day, and to the Quality Assurance Unit, whose ongoing feedback and pursuit of excellence ensured PSC met the highest standards set by IAED.

“Earning Emergency Police Dispatch Accreditation and joining the ranks of only 28 Triple ACE agencies in the nation is a remarkable achievement for Marion County Public Safety Communications,” said Marion County Fire Rescue Chief James Banta. “This recognition reflects the exceptional skill, professionalism, and dedication of our telecommunicators — the first, first responders who are the lifeline between those in need and the help they depend on. Their commitment to excellence ensures that every call for service is answered with precision, compassion, and a steadfast focus on protecting our community.”

The IAED’s EPD Accreditation program recognizes agencies that meet and maintain the highest standards of emergency call handling through rigorous training, quality improvement processes, and a commitment to operational excellence. This accreditation underscores Marion County PSC’s leadership in public safety communications and its role in setting the benchmark for emergency response across the nation and beyond.
