Marion County Fire Rescue extinguishes mobile home fire in Citra

CITRA, FL (352today.com) – Marion County Fire Rescue responded late Friday night to a mobile home fire in the 17100 block of NE 36th Avenue. The call came in at 11:19 p.m. on August 2, prompting a multi-station response due to reports of heavy smoke and flames visible from the structure.

Citra Station #2 was the first to arrive on scene at approximately 11:26 p.m., where crews encountered a single-wide mobile home that was roughly 50% engulfed in flames. Firefighters quickly deployed a hose line and initiated suppression efforts to contain the blaze and prevent further damage.

Support was provided by neighboring stations, including Anthony Station #1, Sparr Station #19, Fort McCoy Station #7 and North Marion Station #11. These crews assisted in the coordinated fire attack and conducted a primary search of the residence to ensure no occupants were inside. Their combined efforts allowed firefighters to bring the fire under control by 11:47 p.m.

No injuries to residents or emergency personnel were reported during the incident. Firefighters remained on scene for a short time to conduct overhaul operations and ensure the fire was fully extinguished.

The mobile home sustained significant fire damage. The cause and origin of the fire are currently under investigation by fire officials.
