OCALA, FL (352today.com) — An armed robbery suspect is behind bars thanks to the quick work of Ocala Police Department (OPD) officers and a dedicated K9 team.

Robbery reported at SW College Road Taco Bell

According to OPD, officers responded to a robbery at the Taco Bell located at 2380 SW College Road at approximately 12:30 a.m. on July 8, 2025. The suspect, 40-year-old Kewarren Anderson, reportedly entered the restaurant through the drive-thru window while holding a large rock. He demanded cash and chased employees out of the building before fleeing the scene.

K9 team leads search and capture

K9 Officer Roberson and his K9 partner, Marshal, quickly tracked Anderson to a nearby dumpster, where he was found hiding. Officers say evidence and witness statements confirmed his identity.

Suspect treated and booked into jail

Anderson was treated for minor injuries and taken to jail. Police credited the successful capture to the swift response and strong teamwork of their officers and K9 unit.
