OCALA, FL (352today.com) – A show of gratitude is on the way for local veterans who’ve served our country with honor.

On July 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., more than 250 veterans in need will receive clothing and essential items at the Ocala Ritz Veterans Village, thanks to a partnership between the AT&T Veterans Employee Resource Group (ERG), Dinontas, and the nonprofit Volunteers of America of Florida.

The AT&T Veteran Network is an associate-led volunteer force, and Dinontas is a veteran-focused nonprofit working alongside Volunteers of America of Florida to support those who’ve sacrificed for our nation.

The event aims to provide less advantaged veterans with free backpacks filled with new clothing, helping those who may be facing life’s challenges.

Since 2019, the Volunteers of America of Florida, AT&T Veterans ERG, and Dinontas have helped more than 8,500 veterans, donating over $230,000 in clothing to support their needs.

Volunteer projects will include:

  • AT&T volunteers sorting boxes of donated items secured by Dinontas and their partners
  • Distributing backpacks to veterans at the Hillsborough Permanent Supportive Housing Program
  • Volunteers of America of Florida staff making backpacks available to programs across the state
