MARION COUNTY, FL (352today.com) – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office reported multiple arrests Wednesday stemming from incidents across the county, including drug possession, trespassing, theft and battery.

In one case, Corporal Jean-Francois conducted a traffic stop in the 10100 block of SE Sunset Harbor Road for a traffic infraction. Deputies said the driver, identified as Michael Panico, showed signs of impairment. Following a DUI investigation, Panico was arrested and found to be in possession of fentanyl. He was transported to the Marion County Jail.

Later, Corporal Bosnyak responded to the Dollar General in the 19500 block of S Highway 41 regarding a trespassing complaint. Investigators determined that Ronald Schor had been trespassed from the store on July 4 but had returned to the property, where he was seen by the manager. Schor was located nearby, taken into custody without incident, and booked into jail.

Deputy Thoresen was dispatched to the Walmart on S Highway 441 after reports of a theft. According to deputies, Samuel Wilson stole $596 worth of merchandise from the store. Contact was made with Wilson, who was arrested and transported to jail.

In another incident, Deputy Surajbali performed a warrant check at an apartment in the 1800 block of NE 145th Avenue Road. Authorities said the deputy made contact with Casey Collins, who had an active warrant for trespassing. Collins was taken into custody and booked into jail.

Deputies also responded to a home on SE 90th Street for a reported battery. The victim told investigators that Benjamin Audit placed him in a headlock and strangled him during an argument. Witnesses at the scene corroborated the victim’s account. Audit was arrested on a charge of battery by strangulation and taken to jail.
