Fire engulfs Reddick feed store, no injuries reported

REDDICK, FL (352Today). – Marion County Fire Rescue responded Monday night to a large commercial structure fire at the Tiz Whiz Feed and Hay store in Reddick. The fire was reported around 7:33 p.m. in the 15000 block of NW Gainesville Road, with multiple 911 callers reporting visible smoke and flames.

Responding firefighters from Engine #11 arrived on scene at 7:37 p.m. to find the structure fully engulfed, with nearby homes threatened. Crews also reported that four tractor trailers on site were involved in the blaze.

While working to contain the fire, multiple explosions were heard, according to information released by Marion County Fire Rescue.

Additional support came from multiple MCFR stations, including:

  • Sparr Station #19
  • Anthony Station #1
  • Citra Station #2
  • Rolling Greens Station #28
  • Orange Lake Station #9
  • Friendship Station #21

In total, 29 additional firefighters responded to assist at the scene.

Marion County Fire Rescue also extended thanks to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, which provided use of a new skid steer that played a key role in dismantling the building and its contents to help bring the fire under control.

No injuries were reported among firefighters or civilians. The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.available.
